    Started re-reading Emma today. Such a flawless book. ”Poor Miss Taylor.” :-)

    In reply to: Sarah Jessica posted an update After several evenings reading ”Emma and Werewolves,” I cannot even recommend this book or support its purchase. I’m keenly disappointed in the editing and writing. View

    Would LOVE to re-read Emma with you. I have new copy (the Penquin clothbound one I had wanted for Christmas) and will happily crack in open this week.

  • Loved our hangout! So happy to meet “face to face.” Thanks for including me and looking forward to another one. FYI, I just looked over the list for 2012 and I will definitely join in on the following:
    A Vindication of the Rights of Women;
    Jane Bites Back;
    Frankenstein;
    Meowmorphisis (looks wonderful); and
    Jane’s Letters.
    I may,…[Read more]

    • Wonderful! And I completely understand about the expense. Used book stores are our friends, and we’ll try to account for the ease of obtaining a copy of a book when we choose. As indicated the list is tentative so if there are any suggestions for additions or alterations, please, let either @sarah or me know.

      • Indeed! After further reading, we are switching February’s book to the original version of Emma. I’m all for supporting writers, but I cannot in good faith support this book. A copy of the original shouldn’t be hard to find either used or at the library.

    Friday the 13th. I should’ve guessed.

    Yes! That works.

    I’ll hopefully figure out how to use the ”hangout” mode by then!

    Looking forward to it,

    I’m good any day (except Wednesdays) between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M.

  • Hi guys,
    In answer to your post,
    1) I’d join you for Mr. Darcy, Vampyre;
    2) I’m hoping to get one or two in the new Penguin ”clothbound” series (oh, so pretty);
    3) Elizabeth Bennet, if she’s ”taken the trouble to practice.” :-)

    • I’m leaning towards Mr. Darcy, Vampyre myself. I’m very curious about it since the author Amanda Grange has also written other Austen novels about our dashing Austen men. I agree those clothbound books are so pretty, and about Elizabeth Bennet. Elinor would try to find a way to walk away.

    • I concur with Mr. Darcy, Vampyre selection, and I will totally need to check out the cloth bound books. How could I miss those?

    Thank you guys for letting me join your group. Sarah, I like your post. You write very well!
